Purchase Program

Device Purchase Program for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors

Students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 for the 2016-2017 school year can participate in the WMRHSD Device Purchase Program. The parent(s) or guardian(s) of a student(s), if they so choose, can elect to buy at cost from the district a Dell Chromebook 11 for their child(ren) to use for the remainder of their tenure in the district. The device will carry a 1 year, accidental damage warranty. An extended warranty can be purchased from the district for an additional cost of $55 per year, to provide coverage up until the student(s) graduate(s). This fee covers unintentional and non-negligent damage. Specific information on what is and is not covered can be found under "Payment and Fees" using the navigation above.

Parents who elect to participate in the Device Purchase Program are required to attend with their child(ren), one of the available Personalized Learning Presentations scheduled at both Mendham and Central High School. The presentations will review initiative goals, care of the device, responsibilities of students, and associated costs. In advance of attending one of the presentations, all students and parents must complete the following:
  • Sign and agree to the Responsible Use Policy
  • Sign and agree to the Personalized Learning Devices Policy
  • Sign and agree to the Technology Agreement page
  • Read and sign the Chromebook Guidebook
  • Pay the full cost for the device and any extended warranty

Fees and Payment

Payment for the Chromebook and any additional years of warranty will be made online using My School Bucks. The fee breakdown is as follows:

Device Purchase Program Fees
  • Dell 11 Chromebook with Touchscreen: $378
  • Additional Year(s) of Warranty: $55 per year
    • (Up to a maximum of two additional years for Sophomores, one additional year for Juniors)

Ordering a Chromebook with My School Bucks

To initiate the ordering process and purchase a Chromebook for your child(ren):
  • Create an account on the My School Bucks website or sign into an existing account
  • Add student(s) to the account if necessary
  • Purchase the Chromebook and additional years of warranty from the Chromebook Virtual Store
  • Turn around time is between two to three weeks from order placement.
